Proposals

Conduit Arts is a firm believer and an ardent supporter of the variability of the individual’s art practice. We recognise that artists have diverse timelines along which they create work and Conduit wants to support this. By reviewing proposals on a quarterly basis we want to allow and encourage artists to present works at all stages of development. We feel that this will allow artists the freedom to develop work along natural timelines without the need or pressure of the yearly proposal intake.

Conduit Arts Initiative receives and reviews proposals four times a year. There is no specific time period in which the proposal call is reviewing for, applications can be for anytime in the future. If a specific time is being requested please email to confirm the availability of the period before submitting the proposal. The upcoming quarterly review dates are:

Monday Aug 31st, 2015

Monday Nov 9th, 2015

Conduit Arts encourages applications from all artists, collaborations and mediums. These can include (but are not limited to) performance art, visual arts, installation, experimental cinema and durational based practices.

When thinking about approaching Conduit Arts applicants are asked to consider the space's focus on development whilst also considering the physical space, including the large window that looks onto Brunswick Street.

The duration for a project can be anywhere from one day up to one month. Common pricing structures are listed below, however, the fee may vary depending on the type of event and duration. For specific prices please contact Conduit Arts at info[at]conduitarts.org

Sustainability Model
As part of our sustainability model, Conduit Arts Initiative, constantly strive to reduce the costs associated with exhibiting. During exhibition openings the bar revenue, once over the $150 cap, is returned to the artist as a way of subsidising the fees paid. This enables fees to be greatly reduced indirectly by the artist's audience. Opening night hours are extended for this reason and the courtyard at the back of the gallery extends the social environment whilst also allowing for better viewing conditions within the gallery space on the night.

Conduit Arts takes no commission from artworks sold.

Gallery Rates:
One Day: $100
Two Day: $200
Three Day: $280
One Week: $560
Two Week: $1120
